About The Power Division of Boston Automations

We design the technology in large homes across New England. Boston Backup Power takes care of the power all of it depends on.

Who we are

Who is Boston Backup Power?

Boston Backup Power is the whole-home power division of Boston Automations, a custom home technology integrator in Norwood, Massachusetts, and an authorized RoseWater Energy dealer. We design and support RoseWater systems that keep large, technology-rich homes running through outages and protect them from surges and unstable power.

Boston Automations designs and installs lighting control, audio and video, home theaters, networking and whole-home automation on Control4, Savant, Crestron and Lutron. That work is the reason this division exists. Learn more at bostonautomations.com.

Why power

Why does a technology firm sell backup power?

Because every system we install depends on clean, steady power, and most homes do not have it. After a storm, many of the calls an integrator gets trace back to power. A lighting processor locked up when the power dipped, a network switch did not come back, or a theater amplifier took a surge. RoseWater makes the same point to its dealers: many callbacks blamed on programming are really power problems.

A generator does not solve this. It starts after the house has already gone dark, and it does nothing about the sags and noise that wear equipment down every day. A RoseWater HUB does both jobs, so we chose to become a dealer and build a division around it. You can read how it works on the how it works page.

How we work

Integrators first

Boston Automations has spent years designing lighting control, audio and video, theaters, networks and whole-home automation for New England homes. We know what that equipment needs from the power feeding it.

Award-winning work

Boston Automations earned the 2024 Lutron Excellence Award and the 2024 Sonance + James Loudspeaker Project of the Year. We hold power systems to the same finish and documentation standard.

Honest scope

We design, specify, coordinate, integrate and support. Licensed electricians make the electrical connections, and RoseWater's own technicians commission every HUB. You always know who does what.

One number to call

After the system is running, the HUB's alerts can come to us, warranty claims go through us, and so do questions about the control system and network the HUB protects.

RoseWater Energy

Who is RoseWater Energy?

RoseWater Energy is the Florida company that designs and builds the HUB. It was founded in 2012, installed its first HUB in 2015, and sells only through technology integrators and design-build professionals like us. Its HUB40 won the CEDIA Smart Home Award for Best New Hardware in the Americas at CEDIA Expo 2023, and CE Pro's Brand Analysis ranked RoseWater second in energy management in both 2024 and 2025.

As an authorized dealer, we register your project with RoseWater's engineering team, size it with them, and coordinate their technicians for delivery and commissioning. Each HUB carries RoseWater's 3-year warranty from the date of commissioning. See the full lineup on our RoseWater Energy page.
