What we collect on this site, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Summary
Last updated October 23, 2026. This site is run by Boston Backup Power, a division of Boston Automations("we" or "us"). We collect the information you choose to send through our forms so we can answer you, and we use analytics to see how the site is used. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
Information you send us
When you fill out the Power Plan, the contact form or the trade form, we receive what you enter. That can include your name, email address, phone number, town and state, details about the property and your project, your timeline, whether you have solar or a generator, the systems you want protected, your company and role if you work in the trade, and any message you write.
With the form we also record the page you sent it from, any campaign tags in the link that brought you here, and your browser's user-agent string, so we know which pages and campaigns lead to inquiries. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address to limit spam. The address itself is not stored.
We use this information to reply to you, prepare a recommendation and a proposal for your home, schedule a site visit and support your system. If your project goes ahead, we share the project details you approve with RoseWater Energy and with the licensed electrician and other trades working on it.
Where it is stored
Form submissions are stored in a database hosted by Supabase, and an email service sends a notification of each submission to our team. Access to the stored submissions is limited to Boston Automations staff who need it. We keep inquiries for as long as they are useful for your project and our records, and we delete them on request unless we need to keep them for a legal or contractual reason.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your general location, and your device and browser. We use it to count visits and form submissions, not to identify you. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Google's use of the data is described in its privacy policy.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and reports them to us only in aggregate. The site itself is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep standard request logs such as IP address and time of request.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising. We do not put personal information in page addresses or link parameters. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@bostonautomations.com or call (781) 333-8003 and we will take care of it. If you no longer want to hear from us, tell us and we will stop.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Questions can go to Boston Backup Power, a division of Boston Automations, 83 Morse St, Unit 8H, Norwood, MA 02062, or hello@bostonautomations.com. You can also reach us through the contact page.
