What is a RoseWater HUB?
- Zero transfer time, so the house never switches over and nothing blinks or reboots.
- Surge and lightning protection rated for up to 40 strikes of 140,000 V, on the grid, solar and generator inputs.
- Voltage regulation and noise filtering so sags, surges and interference stop at the HUB.
- Battery storage starting at 28.8 kWh on the HUB20 and HUB40, expandable on both. 3-Phase batteries are sized per project.
- Solar and generator inputs, with up to 10 kW of solar through the SBX10.
- Remote monitoring, with alerts on voltage events and outages sent to you and to us.
Want the electrical detail? See how a HUB works, or compare it with a generator, a Powerwall-style battery and a surge protector.

How a RoseWater project works with us
Boston Automations
Builds your Power Plan, designs and specifies the system, registers the project with RoseWater's engineering team, coordinates the electrician, programs and integrates the HUB with your home's systems, and supports it for the life of the system.
Your licensed electrician
Makes the electrical tie-in at your panel. If you have an electrician you trust, we work with them. If you do not, we bring in one we know.
RoseWater Energy
Builds the HUB, delivers it to the install location, and sends an on-site technician to commission it. Commissioning by RoseWater-trained personnel is what starts the three-year warranty.
Start with a Power Plan. Pick the systems you want to keep running and we will come back with a first sizing for your home.
What do RoseWater owners notice?

Is Boston Backup Power an authorized RoseWater Energy dealer?
Is Boston Backup Power an authorized RoseWater Energy dealer?
Yes. We register each project with RoseWater's engineering team, so your system is sized with the manufacturer's input.
What is the difference between the HUB20, HUB40 and 3-phase systems?
What is the difference between the HUB20, HUB40 and 3-phase systems?
The difference is how much power each one carries. The HUB20 handles 20 kW on a 100 A service in one cabinet. The HUB40 handles 40 kW on a 200 A service across two cabinets. The 3-phase systems serve 208 V three-phase homes and buildings at 30, 45 or 75 kVA. All three include zero transfer time, surge protection and battery storage.
Can a RoseWater HUB be added to an existing home?
Can a RoseWater HUB be added to an existing home?
Yes. More than half of RoseWater's installations are retrofits, according to RoseWater. A HUB connects at your main electrical panel, and we plan the location and the tie-in around the house you already have.
Where does the HUB go?
Where does the HUB go?
Most HUBs go indoors in a garage or basement, and the room does not need air conditioning. Plan on a space about 3.5 feet wide, 3 feet deep and 8 feet high, with 36 inches clear in front for service. The HUB40 can also go outside in RoseWater's weather-resistant, climate-controlled enclosure.
What batteries does a RoseWater HUB use?
What batteries does a RoseWater HUB use?
RoseWater uses advanced lead-acid (carbon) batteries. RoseWater chose them for thermal stability and predictable behavior, and they are more than 90% recyclable. RoseWater cites a usable life of 7 to 10 years.
What does the RoseWater warranty cover?
What does the RoseWater warranty cover?
RoseWater warrants the HUB for 3 years from the date of commissioning against defects under normal use. Commissioning by RoseWater-trained personnel is required for coverage, and claims go through your dealer first, which is us.
How do I know my system is working?
How do I know my system is working?
Every HUB has remote monitoring built in. You get access to the system's analytics, including outages and voltage events, and alerts can go to you, to us and to RoseWater. The HUB also beeps if its batteries run low.
How much does a RoseWater system cost?
How much does a RoseWater system cost?
We do not publish prices because every system is sized to the home. The cost depends on your service size, which circuits you protect, how much battery storage you want, and whether solar or a generator is part of the plan. A Power Plan is the fastest way to a real number for your house.
