RoseWater HUB40

What is the RoseWater HUB40?

The RoseWater HUB40 is a two-cabinet power system that conditions and backs up up to 40 kW on a 200 A service with zero transfer time. One cabinet holds the HUB electronics and the other holds the battery, and they can stand side by side or stacked.

It is the system for large, technology-heavy homes where nearly every room has equipment that should never reboot. The HUB40 won the CEDIA Smart Home Award for Best New Hardware (Americas) at CEDIA Expo 2023.

Sizing

Is the HUB40 the right size for my home?

The HUB40 is the right size when you want a full 200 A service protected, or when your essential and secondary loads together go beyond what a HUB20 carries. RoseWater’s Power Plan worksheet usually points to a HUB40 for its Enhanced tier, often paired with a generator for long outages.

The output doubles from the HUB20 but the standard battery is the same 28.8 kWh. If you want the house to run longer on battery alone, we add extended battery packs. If you want it to run for days, a generator behind the HUB is usually the better answer.

  1. 01

    Map the loads

Your Power Plan separates the systems that must always stay on from the ones that only need to come back after an outage.

  2. 02

    Confirm 200 A

We check your panel schedules and service to confirm a HUB40 covers it, or whether a second HUB or a 3-phase system is needed.

  3. 03

    Plan storage and fuel

We set battery storage between 28.8 and 172 kWh and coordinate a generator with your electrician if the plan calls for one.

The Power Plan walks through the same load categories RoseWater uses, so we start your design with real information.

Outdoor option

Can the HUB40 be installed outside?

Yes. Since July 2025 RoseWater has offered a powder-coated, weather-resistant outdoor enclosure for the HUB40 that holds the full three-shelf battery configuration and has its own climate control. The whole system stands 60 inches tall and connects to your breaker box the same way an indoor HUB does.

It is a good fit for retrofits without a spare corner in the basement or garage, and for towns that do not allow battery systems indoors. The enclosure is quoted per project, and we work out placement with your electrician.

Who does what

Who installs it?

A licensed electrician makes the connection at your panel, RoseWater’s technician commissions the system, and Boston Automations designs, coordinates, programs and supports it. We manage the schedule between everyone so you deal with one team.

  1. 01

    Boston Automations

Builds your Power Plan, designs and specifies the system, registers the project with RoseWater's engineering team, coordinates the electrician, programs and integrates the HUB with your home's systems, and supports it for the life of the system.

  2. 02

    Your licensed electrician

Makes the electrical tie-in at your panel. If you have an electrician you trust, we work with them. If you do not, we bring in one we know.

  3. 03

    RoseWater Energy

Builds the HUB, delivers it to the install location, and sends an on-site technician to commission it. Commissioning by RoseWater-trained personnel is what starts the three-year warranty.
