Storms and outages in Marshfield
In the March 2 to 4, 2018 nor'easter, Brant Rock was flooded by three and a half feet of water, the seawall breached in two places, and waves went over the roof of a house on Ocean Street. About 12,000 homes and businesses lost power at the peak, and fewer than 3,000 were still out on Monday morning.
In the Blizzard of 2015 a seawall breach on Bay Avenue damaged a home and flooded the Brant Rock Esplanade, and the town's emergency management director said the entire south end of town was cut off. In the December 18, 2023 storm Marshfield was again among the hardest-hit towns.
